Our Story — How Ubunye Began
Born in the townships. Built for the townships.
Ubunye Food Lifta started with a simple observation in Lichtenburg's township communities — Blydeville, Boikhutso, and surrounding areas.
Too many people:
- Travelled just to buy food or collect a parcel
- Struggling to find reliable, affordable delivery
- Watching local restaurants and spaza shops lose customers because they couldn't offer delivery
- At the same time, young men and women with scooters and bicycles had no way to earn a stable income.
So we asked: Why can't township delivery work like it does in the city — but cheaper, simpler, and built on WhatsApp?
That question became Ubunye Food Lifta.
Today, we connect:
